Hello everyone,
I’m Kang Kyung Hyun.
I’m an assistant professor at The Korean Philosophy Program in the College of Confucian Studies and Eastern Philosophy. My lectures are on Korean and Eastern thought such as Confucianism, neo-Confucianism and Korean Confucianism, among others. My research mainly focuses on Joseon era Zhu Xi studies, especially Yi Hwang’s philosophy. I have been conducting research mainly on Korean, Chinese, and Japanese Zhu Xi studies. Recently I’ve begun research on the relationship between Modern Korean society after the 20th century and Confucianism. Various discussions in Zhu Xi Studies during the Joseon dynasty are the result of extensive reflection to make a good life and culture. In my lectures and research, I have always tried to communicate these ideas effectively and personally. I also strive to apply them in the attitude and direction of my life.
Thank you.
