• Our center aims to establish a research and education system that makes the international origin of Korean philosophy sustainable by connecting domestic and international research on Korean tradition up until the present day.

• Korean philosophy is the sum of thoughts which have been developed through mutual convergence with the Korean transformation of East Asian ideas represented by Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism, as well as Korea's traditional humanistic and spiritual culture.In particular, this institute pays attention to the aspect of "living traditions," which are constantly being reconstructed based on the understanding that Korean philosophy has evolved under the historical and geographical conditions of "cultural boundaries."At a time when global interest in Korean popular culture is increasing and the field of philosophy and thought is expanding to digital space, this institute aims to make a leap forward for Korean philosophy meeting these new boundaries.
