The race for realizing non-trivial topological states and their application has attracted great interest in the magnet-superconductor hybrid (MSH) system, which is expected to host Majorana modes at its edge. The most ideal structures of quasi-one- and two-dimensional MSH systems can be accessed by manipulating magnetic adatoms on the superconducting surface, where such artificially engineered nanostructure can be used as a promising platform for studying exotic quantum states not only edge state but also in-gap state so-called Yu-Shiba-Rusinov (YSR) state. In this talk, the electronic and magnetic structure of MSH systems with enhanced spin-orbit coupling probed by ultra-low-temperature spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy (SP-STM) will be discussed. The peculiar spin polarization of prototypical one-dimensional Mn chains on the BiAg2/Ag/Nb surface was observed, which might be attributed to the strong spin-orbit coupling.
