분자 피부과학 연구실은 피부의 구조와 생리현상을  분자적인 수준에서 체계적으로 연구하는 실험실입니다. 피부는 외부환경으로부터 인체를 보호하는 물리적 방어수단으로서의 장벽기능(barrier function) 뿐만 아니라 다양한 생리현상을 통해 인체를 보호 및 조절하는 가장 큰 기관(Organ)으로 알려져 있습니다. 

연구실은 외부 자극에 의해 발생하는 다양한 피부이상현상  (피부암, 피부 자가면역질환, 노화, 피부염증 질환, 색소이상 ) 발생 기전을 체계적으로 탐색하고, 궁극적으로는 피부이상을 개선할 있는 소재를 개발하고자 합니다. 또한, 피부 피하조직 유래 줄기세포의 stemness 분화능(differentiation potential) 조절할 있는 연구를 수행함으로써, 전반적인 피부의 항상성(Homeostasis) 유지 개선할  있는 방안들을 강구하는데 주력하고자 합니다
