Korean Women Philosophers and the Idea of a Female Sage,
The Essential Writings of Im Yunjidang and Gang Jeongildang.
We are working to produce an annotated translation and study of the works of two remarkable Korean women philosophers: Im Yunjidang 任允摯堂 (1721-1793) and Gang Jeongildang 姜靜一堂 (1772-1832), which will be published in the series Oxford New Histories of Philosophy (see https://www.oxford-new-histories.com/contact/) under the title: Korean Women Philosophers and the Idea of a Female Sage, The Essential Writings of Im Yunji dang and Gang Jeongildang. This project enjoys the generous support of a Korean Studies Promotional Service (KSPS) translation grant in the amount of $75,000 USD. Two files are attached above: the first explains some of our reasons for undertaking this translation we believe justify undertaking this project; the second contains some selected translations.
