A secondary battery is a battery which can be reused more than hundred times through a recharging process
even when it is used. Among the secondary batteries, the lithium-ion battery has the best performance among
the currently commercialized secondary batteries. Therefore Lithium ion battery is mainly used for mobile devices
such as mobile phones, laptop computers and so on. Also, with concern about environmental pollution and
increasing concern due to depletion of fossil fuel, the use of lithium ion batteries as an energy source for electric
vehicles has attracted attention. Thus, lithium is applied to the field of applications in various forms.
Our laboratory is researching the various form of Lithium Ion Batteries (LIB, Li-S battery, Li-Air battery, Li-
SO2 battery, All-Solid state battery, Ultrabattery, Redox flow battery etc.), and aims to investigate the physical and
chemical properties of materials used for lithium Ion batteries. Furthermore, we seek to research and develop the
Lithium ion batteries with improved performance.
