Purpose: This event was organized as part of the Academic Cluster Program to foster a virtuous cycle of education and research, thereby contributing to the academic community and future generations. During this event, Professor Sato delivered lectures on the following topics: the history of advanced thought (“Did Han Feizi’s view of humanity come from Xunzi’s theory of nature and evil?”), the establishment of the academic field of modern Oriental philosophy (“The birth of the academic field of Oriental philosophy in modern Japan”), and the literature of <Samguk Sagi> (「Literary and Confucian ideological characteristics of Kim Bu-sik's <Samguk Sagi>). In addition, the second lecture featured presentation by invited experts, including Professor Kevin Lam. In this presentation, Professor Kevin Lam discussed the connection between Kitaro Nishida, a prominent scholar in modern Japanese philosophy, and Confucian ethics and moral sense schools, focusing on the role of emotions.
