Title: When ‘Critical Confucianism’ and ‘Critical Chinese Studies’ meet: Generating Momentum for Mutual Reflection

Outcome: In the first part of the workshop, Professor Baik Youngseo gave a lecture on critical awareness and methods in critical Chinese studies. In the second part, a discussion was held to identify mutual points with our Center’s projects. In-depth discussions explored various ways to find the role of traditional ideological resources while meaningfully reinterpreting the concept of East Asia to suit today's needs. This workshop has many implications for the Center's research, which seeks to explore how Confucian values and virtues can contribute to the current reality of Korea.
