It was time to examine from Mou Zongsan's problem-setting, to the main concepts and propositions of Mou Zongsan's philosophy, and his understanding of Zhu Xi's philosophy. Furthermore, Professor Hwang critically reexamined some points in Mou Zongsan's understanding of Zhu Xi's philosophy, helping the audience to understand modern Neo-Confucianism from a broader perspective. Through the lecture the interest of the audience has increassed in Mou Zongsan's theory of Liangzhikanxian(良知坎陷). The problems of blind faith in science implied by this discussion, as well as the conflict and coexistence of scientific and moral thought, were discussed in depth.
