Title: Post-Human Era, Feminist Confucianism
Aim: The research center is dedicated to uncovering Confucian wisdom that resonates with contemporary society, exploring traditional virtues that can be reshaped into modern civic values and the communal principles rooted in them. This conference aimed to re-evaluate Confucian thought through reflective dialogue with feminism, exploring pathways for its contribution to our community. In response to today’s social conflicts and the future challenges represented by the post-human era, this initiative aimed to create a collaborative space where Confucianism and feminism could engage in constructive dialogue and encourage meaningful connections.
Outcome: The conference examined the latest trends in feminist research and distinctive phenomena in Korean society, framed within the post-human era. Through presentations and discussions at the conference, we gained valuable insights into the meaningful contributions Confucian thought could make. Additionally, dynamic discussions were conducted on new questions and developmental directions that might emerge from exploring intersections between Confucianism and feminism. This offered a valuable opportunity to reassess the role of Confucianism within today’s intellectual landscape, providing substantial guidance for the future research direction of our center.
